Just found https://zeitkapsl.eu/en/ for photo sync and storage, and it looks really great: Small team from Austria, EU data protection, using green energy for their servers.

Oh, and @zeitkapsl have a #Linux desktop app and one for the command line! (The desktop app only works as flatpak for me, the RPM has conflicts on my Fedora install).
