Reactionary parties' biggest strategy is to cover up their agenda and deceive people about their extreme views. And it works often.
For years, in focus group studies, many people who leaned Republican refused to believe what the actual Republican positions were.
The far right is so awful and so good at cultural distraction that many people support them w/o knowing the parties' views.

Donald Trump in provided a perfect example of how much they lie about their views. After Kamala Harris and others highlighted his deep connections to the extreme agenda of "Project 2025," he repeatedly lied about it and pretended to know nothing about it.
