@bridget@gts.sharitt.com It's not enough by itself. If we want to get rid of income disparity, we have to push from both ends. UBI lifts people up. We also need to bring down the top. Healthcare and housing are also super important and they need to be universal, not "with UBI, you can buy stuff." But those aren't enough, either. We also need a cultural shift in which we value people and their contribution to society without competition. The ladder climbing needs to stop. The looking down on people who don't have a fancy job needs to stop. We need to value the person serving coffee as much as the executive who buys it form them on their way to work. We need to value the garbage man as much as the CEO of the beverage company who's bottles he's recycling. But I don't know how to make either of those happen. Fighting for universal basic income, housing, and healthcare at least feels maybe possible.
