Most of the time I wouldn't want to change my #neurodivergent brain for anything; it's given me abilities and insights that would otherwise be totally beyond me. I see the world from an altered perspective, and it's never boring. Overwhelming, sometimes, yes. But never dull.
But when it's ten to four in the goddamn morning and my mind absolutely will not switch off, I find myself wishing I could be a bit more normal, with a sensible sleep schedule.
#insomnia sucks.

@headfirstonly@mastodon.social I have the typical "two sleeps" that was the normal sleeping pattern up until industrialisation. Gives me a bonus hour in the middle of the night, when it's lovely and quiet.

@headfirstonly@mastodon.social Or to live in a society where it didn't matter when I slept. I always seem to be fighting a natural tendency towards being nocturnal. 🦇 Or even a society that was more accommodating in general so that I was less likely to have screwed up sleep. So many reasons for sleep disruption.
