@syllopsium @arclight Oh yes, pretty much everything is moving on the opposite direction. I think we achieve it by making less software, and I certainly think we would be just as well in doing so. I also don’t think adopting a rigorous approach would hurt truly passionate hobbyists either. I believe consumers could deal. They didn’t ask for most of the stuff to which they’re married/subjected. I still have the tiniest bit of hope that consumers will pull back economically. But it will probably never be enough. There is zero chance at increasing the reliability of the development process at work, so I totally feel you. I myself would be willing to take a huge pay cut to work on high integrity systems, provided it could take care of me well in most of the other ways.
