@knowprose Now the other scenario.
Anthropic forks Blender, releases their own 'Claude 3D,' funnels all the magical AI money into it.
They'd have to release it open-source and any code - assuming the codebase doesn't become a vibe-slopped mess - could be used by the original project.
Which one are we all going to be using? Probably the one maintained by one of the most inspiring open-source teams out there. Three decades building a free competitor to all the proprietary options.

@knowprose An entirely community-funded Blender with no corporate donors at all would be ideal from the 'human' perspective. Linux being used in military equipment AND my home desktop - equally not great. We're living in hell, being offered the occasional glass of ice water.* *And being told to refuse the glass of ice water.
