@drmorr those other things -- diagrams, planning, design docs -- can be very useful too! but shipping is when you learn whether what you learned from them was right or not. And far better to learn, and validate; learn, validate; learn, validate; in tight, fast, happy loops along the way, than to discover some structural flaw on the other side of six months' labor.
