Yesterday’s installation of two #GotoSocial instances was the first time I used my home #Proxmox Cluster, not to learn, experiment or move old stuff but like I would with new instances at say OVH. As if I was a customer. And it really feels wonderful. Don’t have to think about instance sizes/pricing . Don’t have to worry about picking a backup option (all instances get backuped to other local PBS hosts unless specifically disabled). No wishing for confirmation emails, accesses. Just create my instance, DNS entry and add one more site to my nginx frontend and boom. Sure when doing something “serious” for work I’ll still go with a dataCenter that doesn’t go offline if a tree falls in our street.
