@jcolag Appreciate the studies! And yes, I don't think it undercuts the point at all... For me studies like these mimic the work world quite effectively, in that the tasks have no downstream consequence and there's no reason the subject should care about producing quality work. It's compelling that LLMs do increase deskilling as one does pointless work. But I'd still say it's still the violence of dissociating people from meaning in the workplace that is the real problem!

    @elizayer Oh, I don't disagree. I've watched decades of people give their well-founded arguments for doing something in a certain way, only to get shot down because the boss wanted his mark on it instead. I'm starting to see the technology as similar to addictions, where it's usually not the core problem, but it definitely exploits every other problem.
