@firepoet Not blaming the hoppers, and apologies, I agree it reads that way!
I think the picture is mixed. There are some folks who move frequently and avoid responsibility...
But I do think it's much more about a system that typically restricts progression of good, thoughtful folks, overpromotes others according to a strange individualized model of "leadership," and embraces a highly problematic layoff culture.
And I'm really sorry for your experience in an unlivable situation. ❤️

@elizayer And, in many cases, the best (or only) way to get a raise or have your pay come close to inflation is to hop jobs. In many places it's considered good practice to change jobs every 2-4 years just for pay reasons.
