@witchgirls@woof.tech Matrix may not be actively /good/ but it's still way better than Discord! If you want group chats it might be a good pick (XMPP would not). Matrix also has the UX of end to end encryption done fairly well (you can back up and move your keys, stuff like that) but the encryption itself is cryptographically iffy (more from incompetence than malice, I think); that doesn't matter for stuff like this though. Oh one downside is Matrix is SLOW. Not using matrix.org helps a ton though; the flagship server is incredibly overloaded.
