@clickhere @baoigheallain I'm one of those easily-startled pedestrians, and I really appreciate a bell ring even if my initial reaction is ridiculous. That's just me, sorry about that!
My dad used to hang a goat bell from his handlebar that made a constant tinkle. It wasn't unpleasant per se, but Jesus, if I was walking along next to him for a while it really grated.
