It reminds me of the discussions as to whether a previous civilization of our technological level would be evident in the geologic/paleontologic record. It’s quite sobering to realize how ephemeral our human-made world is. That said, if we’re really concerned with representing ourselves to a deep future, it may be most reliable to put information about us on the Moon (or Mars), as the article notes their stability. (I suppose our various bits of technology already on these bodies will themselves likely last.)
