@simon issue is too many “experienced” OSM-ers act as managers not mentors or *gasp* equals.

@kevin not in my experience, actually most 'senior' OSMers don't want to do exactly that (manage other mappers, if anything that is the antithesis to OSM) ... obviously there's 20+ years of context that is difficult to convey in a concise form so some friction is to be expected.
