Louis Rossmann and the FULU group have been showcasing Mint in Texas not so long ago. They specifically focus on this distro supposedly because it is simpler for newcomers.
Chances are, you are not in Texas, or the US for that matter, but they could probably still recommend someone closer to your location.

@stargazer The US, but not Texas. Unfortunately the resources others provided do include "local" resources, but they more or less rim the edges of the state, making it a 3 hour drive from where we are to anything likely.
