I was today years old when I discovered that the Mercedes R129 had strut front suspension. WAT!? How did I miss this in the last 30+ years? Maybe I forgot. Ha. I guess this layout has been a staple on Mercs forever but for some reason I thought the R129 was more "sports car bespoke". I wonder if the later R-chassis cars are strut too...
