@xjki I will be 51 this month and am in at similar place. I actually started to lose the train before LLMs. Just tired of relearning everything. Around SwiftUI I just slowed down dramatically. LLMs were surely the nail in the coffin. I dabbled with it to get code snippets or answers / directions but I reluct to use an IDE that controls everything through AI.
I know I will lose control just as happened when I paid people to rewrite one my apps and now I am too lazy/tired to update / understand it.
Somehow my apps from the 2010 era let me make a good living for many years. Mostly I believe through luck and some understanding about human instincts rather than good coding. So I had a good run.
What I see for sure about this always more / always faster mindset is likely the end of my career and I have no idea where to go. Except just reduce costs of living and get out of this.
