Because it was Democratic mayors who did the most to try and crush BLM with force in 2020, and Dems who ardently pursued terrorism charges against anti-genocide protesters and set that precedent, NOT MAGA paleofascists
TBH, I really don't know how y'all can just elide that shit away, like it doesn't matter. I guess that kind of obtuse, self-defeating, "strategic" loyalty isn't a part of my character
Or maybe you actually think "criminals", poor people and minorities shouldn't have due process

But hey, I hope I'm wrong! I hope Hakeem Jeffries and whoever takes over from Chuck Schumer are hard-core humanists and strong Constitutionalists who have the backbone to protect our nearly-gone rights in the United States. Maybe they'll suddenly become capable of using Congress' power to force testimony from powerful people like Trump and his cabinet, and have the will to use the power of the purse to force Trump to his knees. Maybe the coming Depression will help them out.
