I really don't understand the reasoning.
Obviously wine works only on Linux, it converts Windows calls to Linux...
And there are Windows devs targeting proton compatibility specifically?!
In my opinion proton could somehow helps devs realizing that there could be a Linux market but that doesn't go further than that.
