One of my neighbors visited me to play videogames today (yes, as if we were 12 years old again 😁). We found out that my SNES and PS1 controllers needed some maintenance. The PS1 just needed a bit of cleanup of the conductive pads for the start button. The SNES one is really worn out and held together with hot glue already...

  • There is too much play in the shoulder buttons (quite annoying when playing Unirally). A piece of heat shrink tube as a shim between the plastic button and the silicone pad did the trick. My replacement pad (a cheap fake one) is also dead, the PCB is so thin and became all wavy and won't contact the buttons I think. I used it as spare parts to replace the shoulder buttons on the other one. I could desiGn a new PCB for it, but I think it's not worth saving. I ordered another one from Hyperkin
