I really hate the word expat. At this point I'd prefer to get rid of it and any distinction tbh. It so often just gets used by people acting like they're the superior/good kind of immigrants as compared to bad immigrants. It's bullshit. Most of you all are immigrants, the same as every other immigrant, you just misuse the word to make yourself feel better/superior and others worse. Also it shows what group of people mostly does that... And yes, I'm an immigrant! Also fuck borders! (I'm very glad I got to move here to be closer with my partners and I'm not gonna pretend not to be an immigrant.)
