because yeah, it'll suck, and be demotivating. but if you have something fun to fall back on, you can chip away at it and not succumb to despair. if you start doing something new and hard by scaling a sheer cliff because it's "the correct thing to do", you will probably fail and give up.

@AmyZenunim@unstable.systems this is the advice i wish i had 12 years ago when i made the mistake of talking about my new art tablet on IRC i wanted to have fun drawing touhou girls they said "nonono you have to do anatomy studies, here's a website with 30 poses to learn" i didn't try again until a decade later when my artist wife told me i could just have fun
