The Bandcamp public/release date/pre release/listening party interface is utterly confusing and really broken.
As far as I can tell, it ignores the "release date" value and will just release something anyway, unless you've set up a pre release, which requires you to select a track that people can listen to and buy, but doesn't tell you this.
Instead, you can mark it as private, and you'd expect then you can schedule a listening party and it will go live when you want.... No, it doesn't...

instead, it just pops open a new window with "We regret to inform you that something odd happened." in it, and a http400 error. The only way you can get this to work is to set your release to public. This then goes off an emails all your followers and puts it up for sale, removing the entire purpose of the listening party.
