Why is it always Israel? You would think that this would be done somewhere in the US or UK, but no.

Israel shares all their spyware data with the US and UK. Basically they let Israel do all the illegal stuff as a legal (actually illegal but they don't care) loophole.

I have yet to read this book, but [The Palestine Laboratory](https://www.versobooks.com/products/2684-the-palestine-laboratory) is supposed to outline how a lot of the surveillance and weaponry used today are first developed and tested in Israel to aid the occupation, then exported to other countries.
