@anne_twain yeah, but it's not as simple as "stand up to him". That's a partial solution. To him, what we see as bullying, he sees as negotiating. This is "the art of the deal". He'll see it as not winning that encounter, but this is his whole life, his whole personality. He'll want to do another deal. Everyone standing upto him means he's still around, and credibly has a military as strong as the entire world combined. For the real answer you look at who he does not fuck with: doesn't fuck with other dictators, because he likes them, but also they're playing the same game. But he does not want to fuck with Mamdani nor with Sanders. He minimally fucks with AOC and the crew, but I don't think that's logical, that's just misogyny. That's because they threaten his actual power. You need to be able to credibly threaten that, and then he'll leave you alone. Not the US BTW, not what Carney is proposing. Trump personally. Cost him at his root and he'll back off.
