@bakuninboys This is a good read of the situation. I used to work for someone of a similar disposition to Trump. When I needed something I had to have a plan first. Start by asking their advice on some trivial rubbish (should we buy the green one or the blue one?). Then comment on how brave they are to come into work even though they're so exhausted (divert attention to them and their ego). Only then, when the ego is stroked and they are calm, do you proceed to "can you sign this appropriation form for $30k please". Australia needs protection from the US, and the more wild things get with the US, the more we will need it. I hate that this is the situation we are in. But the world is a dangerous place and we are minnows. Might be different if the UK was in a healthier state, and if we were properly allied. Those days are long past now. A good many govts before this one have thrown our lot in with the US.
