@ewen @bakuninboys this also makes time estimation very difficult. I started doing some contract work for someone very experienced in the industry and after giving me a brief of their idea they asked me for a time estimate on completing their project. When I explained that based on my lowly 10 years’ experience the huge variance in embedded electronics development made estimates meaningless he said “Ha! Sounds familiar”, we stuck with an hourly rate and he never asked me about timescales again. Nice chap.
