@cassey I’ll re read it, but purely going of your toots, embracing the idea that “societal roles are just the way they are” (by starting to embody those roles through your physical appearance) seems pretty much “you beat them or you join them” kind of defeatist attitude of just embracing genders because CIS people have been role playing their whole lives and we want to role play too.

@eljojo yeah I think we’re just not really on the same page about what the essay was trying to say- the points you’re raising would make an interesting discussion for another time but don’t seem super connected to what was actually stated or what I am saying either really, so not sure discussing more here will be super fruitful.
