Officers took away posters depicting Donald Trump, Benjamin Netanyahu, Elon Musk and other right-wing politicians dressed in Nazi uniforms complete with symbols, including swastikas. The Dissent Cafe and Bar was closed and designated a crime scene. Its owner, David Howe, said the posters were purely satirical and that the raid was 'an incredible waste of police resources'. The next day, he put the posters back up with 'CENSORED' written across them in big red letters. He had taken the precaution of blacking out the swastikas. The leader of Canberra's Jewish community said he didn't think the posters were anti-Semitic. But the police said that if they were put up again at the bar - as they were - there would be another visit by officers.
