I keep seeing the argument that AI is bad for the skill development of juniors, students and people who are learning judgement in a field. This is a good solid point.
But it almost is always accompanied by “of course I’m a senior/expert in this field with developed judgement so no problems here!”
And it’s such a let down because you have developed judgement for _today’s problems_. Tomorrow a new set of problems will come along and you’ll be a junior again.

The argument seems to be “well yes people who are new to the field should be learning but I am accomplished expert in the field I am ok to stop learning and developing my skills” and it’s like wat.

@colincornaby@mastodon.social Plus there’s no muscle that stays strong without training. Even if you never encounter a new set of problems, you •will• lose your ability to deal with current ones unless you exercise those skills.
