Far be it from me to defend the future Hereditary Earl of Stroll's team but like, we've seen this exact thing before. Honda fucks up a design, ruins a multi year strategic plan, can't compete, and leaves an ocean of Alonso tears in the wake. Audi managed to enter a new sport, design a new engine for a racing category they haven't competed in before, and they've managed to get 2 more cars across a finish line so far this year than Aston Martin-Honda.
