@mediaarchaeologylab - the Internet saved the Personal Computer. Without it, the home computer would have long ago been relegated to a box in the basement - the user having run through all the word processing, complex spreadsheets, fancy posters using graphics for PTA meetings and games of 'Leisure Suit Larry', 'SimCity' and 'Myst' they could possibly justify. Similarly, I suppose it follows that the Personal Computer (and those on them) saved the Internet - so lots of blame to throw around.
