@IceWolf @sequentialsnep This also applies on Linux. Evdev is just events, modes indicates the kind of data being sent and labels. X-input pretty much only applies to standard controllers with four face buttons, a D-pad, two clickable analog sticks, four shoulder buttons, and a "start" and "select" style button. Usually that's the only info that style of data communication can convey. Xpad and similar are drivers for it, since it generally is Xbox controllers, hence the name and protocol.
D-input stands for Direct in this case and is kind of more "let me stop condensing my output for the sake of Xbox understanding". I don't know how exactly the protocol differs but it does in exposing more input things.

@KayOhtie @sequentialsnep Oh there are actual Xinput and Dinput protocols? Well that's confusing terminology, but Explains Some Shit; I thought they were just APIs Windows programs used!
