Gasoline prices sky high at the same time US domestic oil production is also sky high. What gives??

@Bodling Since my car doesn't run on crude oil, I suspect this is something like asking, "If we produce a lot of cattle, then why is cheese so expensive?" I can think of a number of reasons cattle production would be decoupled from cheese prices.
