if you're not mutuals with someone, be aware that the first time you interact with them you're a random person showing up in their mentions and maybe try not to be a reply guy. reply guys—of any gender—get blocked. with prejudice. that's it, that's the underlying impression you're giving. it's important to remember that if you're not mutuals, and sometimes even if you are, following someone creates a type of parasocial relationship. your replies and your profile make or break their first impression of you, especially if you've never replied before or it's been a long time.
