@misty it got so bad that Jack basically swore off playing the rest of the chapters and the whole series in general. when it was obvious Kris != Chara he basically just dropped it on the spot because he didn't care about "the lore" anymore. I honestly feel like the whole Gaster meta-sub-plot and Chara as a character may have gotten Toby a lot of fame and fortune but it has utterly destroyed his storytelling and art itself. it feels like barely anyone really even cares about his characters or story anymore, they're just window dressing to this secret fucked up meta-mystery/hype moments and aura. it doesn't feel like that's what he wanted and he's even made fun of it in the games themselves but it's way beyond his control now.
