@xenophora yeah totally, abstract quest for ethical purity is a diversion from actual materialist change! everyone need to do their path and universal pure solution are a lie. that's true, the big city as you say came with its own rules: algorithmically driven competition and attention span alienation. but as a fact, it created entirely new media culture... generations of memes, success story and horrible story, alongside a fair range of materialist projects who used it as a tactic: like many activism project, street protests or political pedagogy have been boosted through the alienating street of big city. Nowadays, it's not only a platform that we need to detach of, but a culture - that's even harder, especially for those who experienced material change (individual or collective) through such media culture.
