An addition: And of course I don't want to say that these loving, emotionally available men don't already exist, I know a few myself. Unfortunately, they are the exception rather than the rule in my experience, and I can well imagine that this could also show up differently in the same person depending on the situation. And: no one is perfect, we were all born and raised in patriarchy and have internalised much of it. Listening, taking the courage to try, and learning and trying again is what is necessary. And from those who are able to and want(!) to do that imo it also takes the openness to meet people who are on a learning journey in a benevolent way. (I am very aware that not everyone can and wants to do that, and that is also perfectly fine and understandable). 6/5
