The First Rule of Cool is that, the moment you desire to be cool, you become not-cool. This is because one characteristic of Cool is that you don't worry about what other people think; but the desire to be cool means that you desperately care about what other people think. The Second Rule of Cool is closely related to the First, and is similarly paradoxical: if you try to imitate someone who is cool, in order to be cool, you are immediately not-cool. This is because Cool is unique (and, as per the First Rule, you are *desiring to be cool*.) So, the best path to being Cool, is to not worry, and just be yourself (because yourself is unique). This does not guarantee that you will be Cool, but every other method is an automatic fail.
