OH THANK GOODNESS To stop the emoji picker window from appearing every bloody time your finger hits the [FN] key on your magic keyboard, probably because the delete key is too narrow... System Settings -> Keyboard -> "Press 🌐 [GLOBE] key to:" - change this to "do nothing". Tim Apple or John Apple, please note that I do not have a key with a globe marked on it.
