Despite a gap of more than 200 years between the opus “DEAETATIBVS MVNDI IMAGINES” by Francisco de Holanda (1517-85) and William Blake (1757-1827) works, the similarities are striking, making Holanda a true “forgotten light of the Renaissance”. According to Sylvie Deswarte-Rosa: “William Blake never saw that work, it was only rediscovered in 1953."
