They can be seen as good or bad "spirits" but again they are often said "thousands year old animals " for example the famous night tails fox (九尾狐) and monster cat (化貓)...they are powerful things that can transform between animal and human
So is this a unique culture among the "Orient" or such equivalent exist in the other part of the world?
