@hosford42 related, there's research showing that if you do witness something traumatic, playing a game that requires visual concentration, like Tetris, can help to stop what you saw forming into long term memories (it can also explain why you forgot everything you just studied).

@SilverArrows Now I'm wondering if the reason I have so much trouble remembering things people tell me is because I think visually and my mind is literally always busy. I guess that bandwidth had to come from somewhere...
