Old white guy here. I never picked cotton or rowed a galley but I know *exactly* how it feels to be a slave because I was a prisoner once.
Then there’s the matter of commuting to work. If you *have to* do it but you don’t get paid for doing it, what’s that called? How many hours of a workers life is spent commuting? And that’s just the time. What do we call the hours that paying for the car's gas and upkeep?
I could go on but why bother? Albert Parsons explained capitalism better than I ever could. Of course they hung him for it.
