With the exception of some dichthadiigyne* army ant queens during the egg laying part of the colony's migrations all ant queens can move fast without much trouble. Even the dichthadiigyne army ant queen can still walk, she just slims down so she can *run* when the colony is on the move.
*dichthadiigyne is a fun word for the shape of some huge ant queen bodies.

@michaelgemar @minmi I'm always looking for ANY opportunity to say "dichthadiigyne" ... if you want I can find the revision of "baby got back" I did around this... or maybe not.
