Probably the favorite ADHD engineering trick that I use: I have notes for every project. If it's a computer project, I have a notes/ folder containing dated markdown files with stream of consciousness stuff. They seem useless at the time, but help me focus and maintain my train of thought... and more often than not prove invaluable later.
