@mattmaison I prefer not to think that a huge number of my gen X colleagues are morons! When I approach somebody about this one-on-one and point out the impact of sending pleasantries to 100+ people, they usually apologize or say something agreeable and then go right back to doing it. I can't believe that it's malicious, and the people in question are typically very sharp in other areas.
