@Jerry Ah, static! Out here in Silicon Valley we have a decent relative humidity indoors. I am in the foothills and get fog. Sometimes it’s hard to generate a static charge even if I want one for educational purposes. I had a class of 30 science teachers build Leyden jars from recycled stuff. But that day was too humid to generate a charge by rubbing fur on latex. I was humiliated. You should take counter measures. Put a ground strap on your chair. Use a humidifier. Try anti-static spray. Else, one day your monitor will go black forever. Your other electronics will also thank you.
