Reading this after reading various chapters in Henry Reynolds’ History of the North on the Chinese in Darwin and FNQ and the White Australia Policy and damn this particular Australian hobgoblin since forever. Landbridge took a failing port entity and made it profitable in the same way the Chinese did with so many ventures in those places in the early days of Australian nationhood and we keep rejecting their industry.
