It does make some things a bit clearer now that I know that, yeah.
I can sort of understand it, but if you don't have an actually bilingual country, you're crippling yourself

yeh, and it gets even better as apparently even law in india is written in english, imagine a country where both education and law is in a language that not only ain't the native language of the population but the language isn't even taught properly and no attempt to teach it properly has been made in over 400 years.
